About

We are the independent left electoral list (short: LiLi) at the University of Kassel, we stand for good conditions of learning, emancipation and the good life. Therefore, we feel especially responsible for the autonomous structures on our campus, like the café Desasta, the bicycle repair station or the autonomous departments of the student self-administration.

However, academic politics for us do not end at the borders of the campus. We point out the general political mandate of the constituted student body and stand up against every kind of discrimination and exploitation beyond the academic context.
As a electoral list for higher education politics, we organize in a basic democratic way. This means, that our decision making always happens consensual and everyone gets the chance to speak. In this respect, we are successful – so far we did not vote on anything of our political work. This open way of being organized makes it possible for new members, to influence our representatives in the students’ parliament (Studierendenparlement, short: StuPa), general students’ committee (Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss, short: AStA) or the senate, without being elected.

Where is LiLi representated right now?

Now, we have three seats in the students’ parliament (overall 25 seats). Although we won a third seat in the elections we aren´t in the AStA anymore. Last legislation we provided the department of mobility and student´ infrastructure as well as the AStA´s second chairperson. Besides the head of unit, there were more people attached to the unit, covering the areas of privacy and data protection, as well as antidiscrimination and open society. Within the framework of our electoral alliance with the SDS (studentsorganization of the the German left party) and the independent electoral list of Witzenhausen, we have one of the three seats provided to students at the Senate, the highest decision-making body.
